Ramakrishna beach otherwise known as RK beach is located in Visakhapatnam. The beach is a lime light spot for the entire Vizag city, where many cultural events take place every year.
The enthralling sea-line, glittering golden sands and a stream of beach shacks lined along the beach attracts many tourists to this beach.
The shoreline is 3 kms long and runs parallel along the Vizag beach road. The beach is situated in Eastern coastline of Bay of Bengal.
Best Time To Visit RK Beach
The ideal time to visit this beach is during the months between October to February. The humidity will be low during this period and the temperature will be cool at the evenings. The beach will be lively during the evening time, where many beach shacks and other commercial shops will be opened.
How To Reach RK Beach
Frequent metro buses are available to reach this beach. The best option is to hire a taxi or auto rickshaw available at the Vizag city bus complex. Try to bargain before hiring any taxi or auto rickshaw.

Taste Beach Food
Kailash Pav Bhaji is a famous street shop located halfway through the beach road, where you can grab some tangy and tasty North Indian chat items. There is also a Chinese food outlet known as Man-Chow, which serves best Chinese food near RK beach. The beach also hosts number of local spicy Andhra cuisine food outlets at very reasonable prices.
Visit Victory War Memorial
This historical memorial is constructed in 1996 at the RK beach in order to commemorate the Indian Navy victory at the sea during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. A larger central tower has been erected with the quote engraved on it saying, “The nation that forgets her defenders needs no ancestors”. Many of the war veterans, who had fought for this victory, visit the place.
Rejuvenate At Vuda Park
Vuda Park is located at the Northern end of the RK beach and is the best place to rejuvenate for local residents of Vizag city. The park has children’s playground, pedal boating, flower garden and an extended back gate to reach RK beach. Thus park is the best family picnic spot.
Enticing Morning walks
The beach is very active during early in the morning as many residents jog along the beach shoreline to keep them fit and healthy. The beach has no vehicle zone from 05:00 am until 06:00 am in order to make the joggers and cyclists finish their daily activity.
Enjoy The Visakha Utsav
Visakha Utsav is a cultural fest celebrated in a wide range during the month of December every year in RK beach. The local people show their cultural tradition in the form of art, dance, crafts and music. This time is the breeding period of Sea turtles, where you can actually watch the turtles coming out of Sea to lay their eggs.
Have Fun in Camel And Horse Rides
Camel and horse riding along the long stretch of RK beach gives quirky experience. The beach sand is very much ideal for riding horse and camels along the waters. It gives you a unique experience and memorable ride.
Get Blessing From Kali Temple
Kali temple is the shrine built in 1986 opposite to the RK beach to worship the goddess of power (Shakti). The temple is visited by many pilgrims all around the year is Popular for its magnificent architecture and pillars.
