Nagore is a town in the Nagapattinam district along the shore of Bay of Bengal. It is famous for pilgrimage located approximately 12 km south of Karaikal and 5 km north of Nagapattinam.
It was ruled by the Pallava King Rajasimha during 690-728A D. Nagore Dargah is a famous shrine where people from all religions come here to get blessings. Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Muthupet, Adirampattinam are nearby towns.
Best Time to Visit Nagore
October to March
The best time to visit is during the months of October to March. The temperature will be ranging from 25°C to 32 °C. The festival season is during October and November with very popular Kandhuri festival celebrated with a grand show. As the temperature during monsoons will be moderate with gentle to medium rainfalls, it will be suitable for brief visits, spiritual visits and sight seeing.

Nagore Beach
Nagore beach is located 6KM from Nagapatinam, it is one of the famous tourist spot. This picturesque beach is just 5mins walk from Nagore Dargah. When compared to other beaches in this location, the tides in this beach are normal and it is best for swimming. This beach is good to watch sunrise and sunset.
Nagore Dargah
Nagore Dargah is a spiritual Shrine of 23rd descendant of Prophet Muhammad, Meeran Sahib Abdul Qadir Shahul Hamid Badshah. People from all religion can visit this spiritual shrine. This place is considered as the place of unity for Hindu and Muslim religion in India. There is also a tank attached to the shrine. This is called Peer Kulam and it contains water with curative properties.
During the Kandhoori Festival, there will be more crowds. Local people will mainly gather here on special occasions.

Seeralamman Temple
In addition to the Dargah, there is also a Hindu shrine in the locality. It is also an important tourist spot in Nagore. This century old temple is located near the Nagore Railway Station. Seeralamman Temple is maintained by the local fishermen. The annual festival for the temple will be grandly celebrated during the months of October and November for nearly 10 days.

Nagore Beach Park
The park is another important location where the people get more entertainment. It is the right location to stay engaged on the beach. One can get complete satisfaction on spending their quality times in the beach. This park also gives amazing views of the beach and the surroundings.

Velankanni Church
Velankanni church is located at the small town of velankanni, which is just 18 Kms from Nagore Beach. Velankanni is the place of Christian miracles, whereas the Nagore is the place of Muslim miracles. It is believed that mother Mary had appeared here in the 16th Century. This makes most of the Christian religion people to visit here even atleast once during their lifetime.

How to reach to Nagore Beach?
By Air
The nearest airport is Tiruchirappalli International Airport, which is located at a distance of 147 kms from Nagore Beach. There are many flights operating daily between Trichi, Madurai and various other important cities of India and Sri Lanka. From there you can get taxi services for a fare of Rs.1500.
By Rail
The nearest railway station is Nagore railway station, which is 1.3 Kms away from Nagore Beach. Nagore is well connected to Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Trichy and Chennai.
By Road
There are numerous buses plying at regular intervals to Nagore from major cities of the country. The town has been connected by road to Madurai, Kanyakumari, Chennai (328 Kms), Trichy, Pondicherry, Trivandrum and Thanjavur.
